Lounge Review: The new Chase Sapphire Lounge in PHL

Chase’s lounge network just added another notable outpost: a 13,000-square-foot Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Terminal D.
We dropped in over a five-hour layover last week. Here’s the verdict.
The good
- Food: The chef-driven menu is curated by Marc Vetri’s team — easily the strongest food program in any U.S.-based credit-card lounge.
- Quiet zones: True noise-isolated work pods. Free fast Wi-Fi (200 Mbps measured).
- Wellness: A meditation room, shower suites, and a small recovery space with massage chairs.
The not-so-good
- Capacity: A 60-minute wait at peak morning rush. Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders get priority.
- Drinks: The cocktail program is fine but doesn’t punch above its weight given the lounge’s other ambitions.
Should you connect through PHL?
If you have the option between an unappealing 4-hour layover at PHL versus a similar one at a smaller hub — yes, PHL is now meaningfully better with the lounge online.
